The first Li textile that I bought (in 2001) when I was bowled over by the quality of the weaving but had no idea which group had woven it. The Li group wearing this skirt are known as the Ba-sa-dung Li and, according to 'Traditional Culture of Li Ethnic Group' (see China bibliography) speak the Run dialect and live in the Baisha area of Hainan Island. |
