Ba-sa-dung Li skirt. The circumference of the top is
24" (61cm); the circumference of the bottom is 27" (69cm); length
of skirt is 11" (28cm). Two
woven bands around the bottom of the skirt. The width of each of the two
bands is 2.25" (5.5cm). The Li group wearing this skirt are known
as the Ba-sa-dung Li and, according to 'Traditional Culture of Li Ethnic
Group' (see China bibliography,) speak the Run dialect and live in the
Baisha area of Hainan Island. Purchased in 2001. |
