purchased in 2005 in in the style of those from Changjiang in Hainan
Island as illustrated in 'Traditional
Culture of Li Ethnic Group' (see China
bibliography). On page 80 the book says 'in Wangxia township of Changjiang
county, a relatively ancient and complete set of habits and customs have
been retained with a unique dress and adornment for women'. All the women'ts
blouses shown in the book where they are attributed to Changjiang are
similar to the one illustrated here. Women wearing such blouses are also
shown in various chapters of the book although without any group or location
indicator..
