Below is the title page of a Japanese book on the Li people with information on the publisher.  Serena Lee Harrigan of San Francisco faxed it to me.  The Asian Art Museum in San Francisco has a copy   When I was in Japan in October 2002 I enquired about the book in Tokyo in the big Kinokuniya bookshop in Shinjujku.  They did not have it in stock but rang the publishers in Kyoto.  It seemed that it could be ordered but Kinokuniya would not take an order and mail it overseas.  The book cost Yen 12,000 (around US$100 at 23 April 03 exchange rate) and as I have never actually seen the book I could not quite make myself order it.  I have friends in Tokyo through whom I could arrange the purchase and  I may think again before I travel to Japan in October 2003.
