The
bamboo and rattan hoops which are such an identifier of Silver Palaung
women being worn by a woman at the 'Full Moon Day' prayers in the Buddhist
temple in Pein Ne Bin village near Kalaw, southwestern Shan State. Note
the white sash and coiled thread showing under the hoops which are being
worn over the traditional hand woven tube skirt. The decorated back of
the blouse can be seen above.
