Silver Palaung women in the Buddhist temple at Pein Ne Bin village near
Kalaw, northwestern Shan State joining in the prayers on the day after
the full moon 'Full Moon Day". They are wearing traditional hand
woven tube skirts, embroidered blouses of a slightly shiny fabric and
the Silver Palaung identifying bamboo or rattan hoops. The woman in the
centre of the photo is also wearing a white metal belt. A white sash and
black silky threads can also been seen amongst the hoops.
