69K Jpeg A Silver Palaung woman and her young child in Pein Ne Bin village near Kalaw, northwestern Shan State. He is wearing a hat made of what appears to be felted fabric in different colours. His mother is wearing a cap usually worn young girls and unmarried women. The fabric in her blouse is typical of the shiny, velour fabrics which are currently popular. Note the embroidered seams where the sleeves are set into the blouse and which are also decorated with sequins.
