Side Comb Miao - a roll of waxed cloth draining and oxidising (for about
10 minutes) over the indigo dye pot after its first of 12 dippings in
the dye. The waxed roll was first dipped in water and beaten and
shaken to make sure that the fabric was wet thoroughly. The wet
roll was then placed in the dye vat for about 10 minutes to soak and then
removed to drain as shown in the photo. Long Dong village,
