Woven
braids, probably Dao Quan Trang but possibly Nung, woven on a toe-waist
tension loom. These briads were used as a harness to carry a machete or
knife. Similar braids used to tie around the waist of Dao Quan Trang women's
coats. Luong village, Lao Cai province in 1995 shortly after leaving Sa
Pa for the town of Lao Cai.
