Shanghai Tang Pedder Street Store, Central, Hong Kong - 1 September - 30 November 2003 | This exhibition of 15 of Pamela's photos of Miao taken in 2000 and 2001 in Guizhou and Guangxi was hung by Shanghai Tang in conjunction with the launch of their 2003/04 autumn/winter ready-to-wear collection 'Miao Hinterland' which had been inspired by the www.tribaltextiles.info website. |
Longfellow Middle School in La Crosse, Wisconsin school project on Hmong culture - summer 2003 | Approached by individual 7th graders at Longfellow Middle School in La Crosse, Wisconsin to use Hmong photos for a project on Hmong culture involving writing children's books and creating a web site. They were planning to share their books with other students and possible the La Crosse Children's Museum |
Children's Museum of Memphis exhibition "Your House, My House" - 2003 | Children's Museum of Memphis, a non-profit organization in Memphis, Tennessee use Pamela's photo of stone houses in Shitou village, Guizhou in an exhibit entitled "Your House, My House". It explored the relationship between culture, environment and residential buildings. The exhibit will be premiered in Memphis (26 April - 28 September 2003) and will then travel throughout the US and into Canada. |
Gads Forlag, 2002 | One of Pamela's photos of Padaung women was used in a Danish book on 'the future body' published by Gads Forlag, a Danish publisher. |
Development Gateway. Photo used in a web feature15 - 29 October 2002 | "Culture & Development" page of the Development Gateway, a global Internet portal dedicated to sustainable development and poverty reduction used another of Pamela's photos as an illustration of the global effort to protect endangered languages. |

Photos used in web feature 20 June 20 - 8 July 2002 | "E-Commerce for Arts & Crafts" page of the Development Gateway, a global Internet portal dedicated to sustainable development and poverty reduction, used Pamela's photos used to illustrate the role of ecotourism in developing an online market for crafts from remote areas of the world. |
Reforma newspaper, Mexico City - May 2002 | Some of Pamela's images of Padaung women were published in a travel article on Thailand and Myanmar |
The Integrated Immigrant Senior Services Program brochure to help Mien and Hmong Seniors - autumn 2001 | Several of Pamela's photos, including a Mien (Yao) photo, were used by the Senior and Adult Services Division of the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services in brochures and internal training material promoting a free program to assist Mien and Hmong seniors, their caregivers and their familes overcome barriers to accessing needed services and benefits. |
Minneapolis Institute of Arts ArtAdventure Program for schools - summer 2001 |
Photos of Blue Hmong children in a village on Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai were used in an ArtAdventure kit for schools as part of the additional material used with reproductions of art work in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art to give the art both a material and cultural context. |
Live Art Week in York, UK - early 2001 | Pamela was approached by Jacqueline James, a York (U.K.)based rug weaver, to use some of her photos on picture boards in 10 paper-making workshops for secondary schools to help illustrate the children, dress, colours and patterns of textiles in China and Southeast Asia. |
