This photo of a stele in Angkor Wat, is my favorite, especially for meditation. The figure is doing a victory dance; note a javelin held upright.
This section commemorates scenes from the Indic/ Hindu epic, the "Mahabaratha". What makes this figure so interesting is his huge earlobes, carved at a time when they were beginning to be associated with the Buddha. Ankor Wat is a monument to Brahmanic concepts, and this victory dancer is the only one sharing some physical affinity with the Buddha (who, of course, is never shown in battle, or in victory).
