ss04 Jpeg 54K Tai Lue from the Golden Triangle 1990.  We’re not sure if this was simply a wall hanging or a pha biang.
T'ai Lue or Lan na T'ai textile, use unknown. This wonderful piece, divided into sections, and woven in mirror style, consists of Khosa Singh surrounded by tiny creatures of the Tai repetoire. This is the textile of such dramatic charm, captivating everyone, with the distinction of being the
most-attempted stolen when exhibited.
Age: probably newish, but who cares (purchased in Chiang Rai in 1990) cotton: cotton supplementary weft; dyes: definitely aniline
