A new (end 20th beginning 21st century) woven fragment showing an ancestor figure between two bird riding on the back of a siho, a mythological animal half-lion, half-elephant unique to the Lao culture and considered to be imbued with special powers. Woven in cotton, probably chemical dyed supplementary weft coloured threads. This fragment had been made into a cushion cover and then exported to Malaysia.
