A Ge Jia winter baby carrier in the collection of Andrew Dudley which was purchased from a Kaili dealer in 2003 the attributed date of 1910 suggests that it is first quarter of the 20th century. It is similar to a wax resist baby carrier in Pamela Cross's collection and, as Andrew commented on the forum: " this style is quite common and has been produced for a number of generations up to the present day". He suggested that, on Pamela's carrier "the pattern in the centres of the three large upper circles (of flowers) could be reasonably old, say about 60 years old, although it would be almost impossible to say for sure even if seeing the original piece (often, the centres of these circles were left blank as the tying band would cover this area)."
