Embroidered Ge Jia baby carrier collected by Pamela Cross in 2001 in Ma Tang village, Kaili city and which Andrew Dudley estimates is likely to be more than 20 years old i.e. probably third quarter of the 20th century. See his embroidered baby carrier which the seller estimated as between 30-40 years old. This textile is so very difficult to photgraph as the colours only have a subtle differentiation and the stitching is so solid. The colouring pre-dates the current fashion for bright scarlet reds - see third row of thumbnails below.

This was purchased by Pamela in 2000 but probably collected earlier in the Kaili area. Estimated age, last quarter of the 20th century.

It was said to be 30-40 years old by the seller, putting it in the third quarter of the 20th century.
