Jpeg 57K 9510K34 Flowery Hmong woman at a small local market on the way down from the mountains around Sa Pa towards the town of Lao Cai, Lao Cai Province.  Her machine applique leg wrappings are similar to the Flowery Hmong woman photographed in Sa Pa who lived near the border with China.  This influence continues in the heavy machine applique and emboridered panels on the sleeves and neck of the blouse as well as the dangling trimmings imported from China.  It is difficult to see whether she has any wax resist inserts on her skirt, although it looks as if possibly the top section is indigo dyed wax resist.  There is a wide red purchased fabric bottom border.  Her apron is relatively short and machine appliqued.
