On the 11th of December 2016 the book Fascinating Children's Hats is released! We had a wonderful gathering and on the occasion I gave a short lecture on the subject
In the book ‘ Fascinating Children’s Hats’ I take you on a trip in the wonder world of ethnographic children’s hats. The book is a tribute to the love of a mother for her child and the diversity of cultures
For various reasons the daily use of traditional clothing is fast disappearing all over the world. This is a pity as the clothing is very interesting and tells a lot about the culture of the people, who are wearing them. In this book we travel through the world and see in what way (mostly) mothers embellish their child’s hats in a protective way. Objects, patterns and materials were used both as a decoration and for the protection of the child.
If you are interested in children, cultures, colourfull pictures, crafts and travelling this is a book you shouldn’t miss!
