There is curently an incredible exhibition of some of the 80 Qing Dynasty costumes collected by Chen Cheng-Hsiung at the National Museum of History, Taipei.
As typical of the NMH the exhibition is beautifully curated and the layout phenomenal enabling the incredible privelege of examing these textiles at close range.
There is also an excellent book accompanying the exhibition:
Chen, Cheng-Hsiung (2008). Imperial Costumes of the Qing Dynasty. Taipei: National Museum of History. ISBN 9789860140286
There appears to be a problem with the exhibition URL at the moment - however, it can be accessed as follows:
1. go to website:
2. select "English" option
3. go to exhibition pull down menu
4. select current exhibitions
5. An Exhibition of Court Costumes of the Qing Dynasty
