Bali is a fascinating weaving destination. I was on a steep learning curve but visited several spots that included a batik demonstration (Popiler Batik Factory in Tohpati), single ikat weaving studio and showroom in Blahbatuh, a busy textile market in Gelgel and double ikat weaving demonstration at the Bali Age Village. I would have enjoyed seeing a weaving/dyeing studio in Seraya and a weaver in Sideman but time did not permit. I highly recommend timing a trip to Bali with a visit to an Ubud gallery - Threads of Life. Their website is very informative.

The gallery is planning a 12 day textile tour of Bali and Flores next year.
