Just a few pics of two more TTS ?hinggi from my little collection....pity one of them has some old damage, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the condition. Look to me to be all handspun and 100% vegetable dyes. Will have to try and learn more about the motifs. Aquired both ( and more ) in Kupang area in 1992....from a little old man carrying around a big bagload to sell ( sort of like Santa definitely felt like Christmas to me !!

File comment: Pity about the fraying on one side

Steve, The first piece is probably from Mamsena and while the indigo looks natural the other color seems quite faded which is often a characteristic of chemical dyes. Need a close-up photo of the threads to tell if it is hand spun (drop spindle) or not. The second piece may be from Niki Niki. The center looks like hand spun and probably natural but the side stripes are probably chemical and maybe commercial thread (pre-dyed). Thanks for posting them.

Best regards
