Hi Richard,
May I be the first to welcome you back to the Forum! You have been sorely missed, and the long absence without your treasures has been sorrowful!
Now that we're focusing on minority textiles of China, I'm wondering about the identification of these textiles new on the market. I've been seeing ripped panels of embroidery which apparently were glued on a piece, rather than sewed. I've also come across "story cloths" from Chinese Miao, which while very different from the Hmong storycloths in my collection, are pictorial, and show humans, as well as the dragons, flowers and birds, which decorate the landscape of many textiles.
These are just a few observations and queries. But it would be great to get some technical guidelines from experts.
All the best,
Sandie
